MARDOG Combi Sleeve

MARDOG Combi Sleeve with Replaceable Covers Handmade in Poland · Jute & Nylcot Covers · One Sleeve, Maximum Versatility The MARDOG Combi Sleeve redefines what a protection sleeve can be. Built on a durable Polish-crafted sleeve body, this system pairs the open-back combi design helpers rely on with a game-changing upgrade: fully replaceable covers in both Jute and Nylcot. Buy one sleeve, swap covers between sessions, replace a worn cover instead of an entire sleeve, and give your dog two distinct bite surfaces without doubling your equipment budget. This is the smart way to build out your protection gear. Buy the sleeve + both covers and save! Replaceable cover system: Covers attach and detach cleanly so you can swap between Jute and Nylcot in seconds — no tools, no hassle. When a cover wears out, replace just the cover, not the whole sleeve. Two cover materials available: Jute for the classic natural-fiber bite feel dogs know from early training; Nylcot for a tighter, more synthetic surface that holds up in wet conditions and provides a different bite stimulus. Open-back combi design: The open rear section features dual handles that protect both hands from unintentional bites and allows the helper to hold the sleeve like a wedge — giving you the full range of combi-sleeve presentations in a single piece of equipment. Helper comfort built in: Balanced construction and ergonomic inner arm fit reduce fatigue through long training sessions and club work. Full bite surface coverage: Designed to present a proper, full bite face for clean, deep grips and consistent pictures across all drive levels. Handmade in Poland: Each sleeve is individually crafted and inspected by MARDOG before shipment. One size: Universal fit designed for a wide range of helpers. Cover Materials — What's the Difference? Jute: The traditional natural-fiber cover used in IGP/IPO training worldwide. Provides a slightly textured, firm bite surface with a natural scent that many dogs respond to strongly. Excellent for all stages of training from foundation to trial. Shows wear over time with heavy use. Nylcot: A durable synthetic material that resists moisture, dries quickly, and holds up longer under repeated heavy bites. Provides a slightly different bite sensation than jute — useful for varying stimuli and keeping high-drive dogs sharp. A go-to for wet weather and outdoor club sessions. Why the Replaceable Cover System Matters Extend sleeve life: The sleeve body takes the structural load. The cover takes the bite wear. Replace the cover, protect your investment. Vary bite stimulus: Alternate between Jute and Nylcot sessions to keep your dog working confidently on different surfaces — a real advantage heading into trial season. Cost efficiency: A replacement cover costs a fraction of a new sleeve. One sleeve body + two covers gives you more training flexibility for less money than two separate sleeves. Club-friendly: Helpers running multiple dogs can swap covers between rotations to present a fresh surface or switch material based on dog preference. Combi Sleeve — What It Is & When to Use It Open-back design: Unlike a full sleeve, the combi leaves the back of the arm open with dual hand protection handles — giving the helper more natural arm movement and grip options. Wedge-compatible: The dual handle system lets the helper hold the sleeve sideways like a wedge for foundation bite work, drive building, and puppies. Versatile use cases: Club training, foundation work, young dog development, and experienced helper rotations. The combi design bridges training sleeves and trial sleeves in a single piece of equipment. Pro tip: Buy the sleeve with both the Jute and Nylcot cover. Start your dog on Jute if they have a strong Jute history, then introduce Nylcot sessions as confidence builds. Having both covers on hand means you're never locked into one surface — and when one cover wears, your sleeve is still fully functional the same day. Made by MARDOG in Poland. Each sleeve is handcrafted and tested. FAQs What is a combi sleeve and how is it different from a full sleeve? A combi sleeve has an open back — the helper's arm is partially exposed at the rear, and the sleeve features two handles for hand protection and grip options. This gives the helper more flexibility in presentation angles, including holding the sleeve sideways like a wedge for foundation and young dog work. A full sleeve covers the entire arm and is typically used for more advanced trial-level work. How do the replaceable covers attach to the sleeve? The covers are designed to fit securely over the MARDOG Combi Sleeve body and can be swapped without tools. The fit is snug enough to stay in place through hard bites and active training, but clean enough to remove and replace quickly between sessions or rotations. Should I start with Jute or Nylcot? If your dog has a strong history on Jute — which most dogs trained in IGP do — start there. Jute is the traditional surface and most dogs bite it confidently from day one. Introduce Nylcot once the dog is working reliably on Jute. For dogs newer to protection work, Jute is generally the better starting point. Can I buy additional covers separately? Yes — Jute and Nylcot replacement covers are available separately so you can restock whichever surface wears first without purchasing a new sleeve body. Check our Protection Gear collection for cover listings. Is this sleeve suitable for young or developing dogs? Yes — the combi design is well-suited for young dogs and foundation work. The open-back dual handle system allows the helper to present the sleeve as a wedge for early bite development, and the Jute cover provides a familiar, natural bite surface for dogs new to sleeve work. It grows with the dog as training advances. Where is this sleeve made? The MARDOG Combi Sleeve is handmade in Poland by MARDOG, a specialist protection sport equipment manufacturer. Each sleeve and cover is individually crafted and inspected before leaving the facility.
