5b 1626 R.D. Maximiliani Notes The Manuale Exorcismorum is a historical text used primarily in the late Middle Ages and early modern period as a guide for performing exorcisms within the Catholic Church. It contains specific prayers, rituals, and guidelines for priests to expel demons and evil spirits from afflicted individuals. While it may not be as widely recognized as the Rituale Romanum, it reflects the Church’s formal approach to the phenomenon of possession, emphasizing the necessity of ecclesiastical authority in conducting exorcisms. The covers are scuffed in several places and have dark sections of discoloration. Corners are particularly scuffed and are missing bits of the leather. Text is in Latin and the pages are browning. Two woodcut letters throughout, red ink included on title page, and a section of handwriting on the title page as well. In great condition overall.
