Mango Quartz

This piece is simply stunning! It’s large with a grey matrix hosting a dense cluster of Mango Quartz. The Mango Quartz crystals are pristine, exceptionally lustrous, transparent, and host a deep-yellow termination (thus the "mango" association). The large focal crystal literally grew on the side of the matrix, creating a fascinating and unique visual. The yellow/mango coloring is the result of Halloysite inclusions. Adding to the color palette are numerous small deposits of colorful, yellow-orange Limonite, an iron-oxide, throughout the piece. Mango Quartz is a relatively new find out of Columbia, and it has become highly sought-after and collectable. This particular piece is spectacular with amazing color, crystal formation, symmetry and contrast, and would be a great addition to any collection. No damage. Location: Cabiche, Quipama Municipality, Boyacá Department, Columbia Size: 15.5 x 9 x 8 cm
