xMangave 'Blue Mammoth' is a 2018 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction that's been the most winter hardy xmangave in our trials...so far, to 7 degrees F! In three years, expect this Agave ovatifolia hybrid to form a 2' tall x 4' wide, slowly-offsetting, architectural rosette of jagged blue leaves with subtle olive spotting. Unlike its agave parent, xMangave 'Blue Mammoth' doesn't die after flowering, so sit back and enjoy the 10' tall spike of yellow flowers that usually occurs by year 4-5. Good drainage and sun are the keys to success.
