Mica Powder for Resin - Maneater Aqua Glow Powder (0.5 oz)

Maneater Resin Casting Mica Powders Transform your resin projects with Maneater Aqua GLOW Powder – the ultra-bright, mica-based glow-in-the-dark pigment that charges quickly under any light source and explodes into a vivid turquoise / aqua-blue glow that lasts for hours in complete darkness. Perfect for creating stunning mermaid-themed pen blanks, ocean-inspired river tables, glowing knife scales, custom jewelry, or any casting where you want that "wow" factor when the lights go out. This isn't your average cheap Amazon glow powder that barely lights up – Maneater GLOW is specially formulated for casting resins, delivering an intense, even turquoise glow without the grainy look or weak performance of lower-grade strontium aluminate pigments. In daylight, it has a subtle pearlescent aqua shimmer; charge it for just 10-30 seconds under sunlight, LED, or UV blacklight, and watch it radiate a bright, ethereal turquoise that turns heads. Why Pen Turners & Resin Artists Love Maneater Aqua GLOW Powder Insane Glow Intensity → One of the brightest aqua/turquoise glow pigments available for resin work. Charges fast, glows strong for 8+ hours (initial burst is brightest, then slowly fades). Perfect for Pen Blanks → Create "Mermaid Tail", "Deep Ocean", or "Bioluminescent" pens that look elegant in normal light and absolutely magical in the dark. Super Fine Mica Base → Mixes smoothly with no clumping or settling issues in slower-curing epoxies. A little goes a very long way! Versatile & Compatible → Works beautifully with Alumilite urethanes, JB Royal Original/Thin epoxy, most polyester resins, and other clear casting epoxies. Pairs amazingly with liquid pigments (try Divine or Eye Candy pigments for layered effects). Easy-to-Use 0.5 oz Wide-Mouth Jar → Precise measuring, no mess, and enough powder for dozens of pen blanks or larger projects. Recommended Mix Ratios & Tips for Best Results Use clear or very lightly tinted resin — darker bases will overpower the delicate pastel look. Mix the powder into Part A first for even distribution, then add Part B. Start conservative — 1 gram per 8 oz resin gives a true soft turquoise; add a little more for stronger color/glow. Charge with sunlight, LED/UV lamp, or even a phone flashlight for 5–15 minutes. Works beautifully in epoxy, urethane, and UV resin. Important: This is a casting pigment and is NOT designed for stabilizing resin/wood. Resin Type Starting Ratio (Powder : Resin) Notes for Maximum Glow & Clarity Alumilite Urethane (Clear or Slow) 1:30 Grams : Grams Fast cure helps keep powder suspended – minimal sinking. Epoxy (JB Royal, Liquid Diamonds, etc.) 1:10 Grams : Liquid Ounces Start light for translucent glow; go heavier for opaque intensity. Stir slowly to avoid bubbles. Polyester Resin 1:10 Grams : Liquid Ounces Great color payoff; pressure pot recommended for bubble-free casts. Pro Tip: For the absolute brightest glow, use in clear or lightly tinted resin and avoid overloading with opaque pigments that can block light charge. Charge finished blanks under direct sun or a strong UV flashlight for 30–60 seconds – the glow will be eye-searing! Project Ideas That Sell Like Crazy Mermaid/ocean swirl pen blanks (pair with teal, purple, and silver mica) Glow-in-the-dark fishing lure embeds Night-sky river tables with glowing "waves" Custom glowing knife handles or bottle openers Halloween or fantasy-themed jewelry Frequently Asked Questions How long does the glow really last? Initial intense turquoise glow for 30–60 minutes, then visible afterglow for 8–12 hours (depending on charge strength and amount used). Will the powder sink in epoxy? In slow-cure epoxies it can settle slightly (creating a cool gradient effect!), but thorough mixing and rotating molds minimizes this. Alumilite users rarely see sinking due to faster gel time. Is it safe? Food contact? Non-toxic and skin-safe once cured in resin, but like all pigments – not food-grade or edible. Great for pens, handles, and decorative items. Does it work under UV/blacklight too? Yes! It fluoresces a beautiful aqua under 365nm UV for an instant party effect. Can I layer colors? Absolutely – try a base of regular aqua mica in the first pour, then add Maneater GLOW in the second for depth. Can I use Maneater Mica Powders with stabilizing resin? No. Our mica will not mix into the stabilizing resins like Cactus Juice or SOS 3.0. Ready to make your blanks glow like never before?
