Maloles: The Reckoning Vol. 1 - Keeper of the Underworld [English, Softbound]

Maloles: The Reckoning Vol. 1 is a dark Filipino fantasy graphic novel that shatters tradition. Created by Filipina artist Ebony Soy, this powerful debut blends pre-colonial mythology, ancestral rituals, and psychological horror into a story of destruction and defiance. Maloles, a divine weapon born to serve the Underworld, chooses to destroy it instead. Set in a world inspired by Filipino spiritual beliefs—but not bound to folklore—this book dives deep into rage, identity, and the cost of choosing your own path. With bold black-and-white artwork and unflinching storytelling, Maloles is perfect for readers craving dark, original narratives that explore cultural roots and personal rebellion. Printed in the USA and published by Hot Tropiks Press, this is the first volume in a planned trilogy. For fans of Filipino comics, indie horror, and stories that challenge the norm, Maloles is a must-read.
