Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral known for its swirling bands of light and dark green, traditionally associated with transformation, protection, and emotional balance. This adjustable ring sets a smooth, polished malachite cabochon into a 925 sterling silver band, pairing the stone's dramatic banding with a bold yet elegant setting. In crystal tradition it's closely tied to the heart chakra, associated with emotional openness and the courage to navigate change. Setting a smooth malachite cabochon in sterling silver is a classic pairing — the cool, bright metal frames the stone's earthy green without competing with it. How to wear it This ring is adjustable, so it fits a range of finger sizes and can be gently resized at home by opening or closing the band slightly. The smooth malachite cabochon wears comfortably for everyday use, though it's best removed before washing dishes, gardening, or exercising. Some people hold the stone for a moment before putting the ring on, treating the banding as a small visual anchor for an intention around change. It's a symbolic, decorative piece rather than a health product. Care & cleansing Malachite is a soft, copper-bearing stone — at roughly 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale — so it needs gentler care than the sterling silver band around it. Never make elixirs or gem water with it, and avoid wearing the ring in the shower, pool, or while washing hands with soap and lotion. Wipe both the stone and the silver with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth, and store the ring away from other jewelry that could scratch the cabochon. If you ever handle raw, unpolished malachite, avoid inhaling any dust it sheds. Frequently asked questions What is malachite? Malachite is a natural copper carbonate mineral known for its bands of light and dark green. This ring is a decorative/symbolic piece, not a health product or medical device. Is this ring adjustable? Yes. The sterling silver band can be gently opened or closed at home to fit a range of finger sizes. Can I cleanse this piece with water or make a malachite elixir? No. Malachite should never be soaked, submerged, or used to make gem water or elixirs, since it can react with moisture and release copper. Is this ring safe to wear every day? Yes, for everyday decorative wear, just remove it before washing dishes, swimming, or exercising to protect the stone. Will my ring look exactly like the photo? Not exactly. Malachite is a natural stone, so the banding pattern and exact shade of green vary from piece to piece. How do I clean my malachite ring? Wipe it gently with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Avoid water, ultrasonic cleaners, and harsh chemicals to protect both the stone and setting.
