Malachite Orgonite Pendant

Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral known for its swirling bands of light and dark green, traditionally associated with transformation and protection. This 1.75-inch pendant sets natural malachite chips into orgonite — a man-made blend of resin and metal shavings — so the stone's banding glows through a smooth, layered surface. Quick facts Stone Malachite (set in orgonite resin) Composition Copper carbonate hydroxide (Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂) malachite, cast resin, and metal shavings Hardness (Mohs) 3.5–4 (malachite); resin shell is harder and more scratch-resistant Color Deep green malachite banding visible through clear resin Chakra Heart Chakra Traditionally used for Transformation, energy balance, protection Care / Water-safe Not water-safe — wipe dry, keep away from heat Meaning & history Malachite has been carved and worn for thousands of years for its striking green banding and its reputation as a "stone of transformation," associated with the heart chakra and releasing what no longer serves you. Orgonite is a modern invention, not an ancient material — a resin composite embedding metal shavings and crystal chips, popularized in the late 20th century as a way to layer metal and resin for balance. This pendant pairs that modern design with an old stone. How to wear it This pendant is sized at about 1.75 inches and hangs from a chain of your choosing. The resin shell fully encases the malachite chips, making it a bit more forgiving of daily knocks than bare malachite jewelry, though it should still be handled gently. Some people hold it for a moment before wearing it, treating the visible banding as a small visual anchor for an intention around change. It's a symbolic, decorative piece rather than a health product. Care & cleansing Because this pendant contains both malachite (a soft, copper-bearing mineral) and cast resin, treat it as a wipe-clean piece rather than something to submerge or soak. Never make elixirs or gem water with it — malachite reacts with prolonged moisture, and resin isn't meant for submersion either. Wipe with a dry or barely damp soft cloth, and keep it away from heat and harsh chemicals, which can cloud or warp the resin. If the resin shell ever cracks or chips, avoid extended skin contact with the exposed malachite underneath and keep the piece away from children and pets until it's repaired or retired. Each piece is handmade, so stone placement and resin clarity vary. Frequently asked questions What is this pendant made of? It combines natural malachite chips with orgonite — a man-made composite of cast resin and metal shavings. It's a decorative/symbolic piece, not a health product or medical device. What is orgonite? Orgonite is a modern resin-and-metal composite, not a natural mineral. It's designed to encase crystals like malachite in a durable, layered shell. Is this pendant safe to wear every day? Yes, for everyday decorative wear. Keep it dry and away from heat, since both the malachite and resin are sensitive to those conditions. Can I cleanse it with water or make an elixir? No. Skip water cleansing and elixirs entirely — wipe the pendant clean instead to protect both the malachite and the resin. What if the resin shell cracks or chips? Malachite is copper-bearing and best not touched directly for extended periods. If the resin is ever damaged, avoid prolonged skin contact with the exposed stone and keep it away from children and pets until it's repaired or retired. Will my pendant look exactly like the photo? Not exactly. Each pendant is handmade, so the malachite placement, resin clarity, and metal flecks vary from piece to piece.
