How to use itKeep the nugget on a desk or altar, hold it briefly during intention work, or simply display it for its striking natural pattern. Because it's a raw, tactile piece, many people enjoy handling it occasionally, just with the care notes below in mind. Care & cleansingMalachite is a copper carbonate mineral, which makes it sensitive in ways many crystals are not. Never use it to make elixirs, gem water, or crystal water, and never ingest it — copper compounds are toxic if consumed. Avoid sanding, cutting, or otherwise generating dust from it, and don't inhale dust from raw or rough pieces. Wash your hands after handling raw or unpolished malachite. Keep it away from water for prolonged periods, since malachite can be sensitive to moisture over time, and keep it away from children and pets. To cleanse its energy in the traditional sense, many people use sound, smoke, or simply sunlight rather than water. Frequently asked questionsWhat is a Malachite Nugget?
