Make It Slow Kitchen Mortar and Pestle

A unique heirloom kitchen tool: a wooden, hand-turned pestle in the shape of a mushroom. This type of pestle is typically used for crushing and peeling garlic cloves, mixing, milling, grinding, or smashing kitchen herbs or spices. The mushroom shape provides a comfortable grip and a sturdy base for efficient crushing leverage. The wooden construction adds a natural aesthetic to the kitchen and can be styled as functional decor when not in use. Paired with an optional hardwood mortar bowl to create fresh garden pestos or dressings, grind whole spices, make guacamole or even yummy berry compotes. A mortar and pestle is a historically cherished item in the kitchen for good reason. All of Make It Slows products are handmade with quality and intention by them near Pittsburgh, PA with local native hardwoods sourced ethically and when possible, by their family.
