The Major Tom is our tubular road racing rim — a lightweight, machined-sidewall profile built for riders who prefer the ride quality of a glued-on tubular tire and the pure performance of a race-day wheel. Light, stiff, and ready for criteriums, road races, and time trials, it's named in honor of Bowie and built for riders chasing that same kind of high-flying feel. For those who know why tubulars still matter. Built with Velocity Race Disc hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes. Each Velocity wheel includes our best "rim tape" solution standard. Velotape for tubeless models, Veloplugs for non-tubeless models. Hand-built to order by Velocity USA. Typical lead time: 3 weeks.
