Sea Urchin Roe (Sushi-Grade Uni) 5.3 Oz Tray - Season Open

The Maine sea urchin season ended in March. We are currently sourcing urchins from Canada. The Canadian season will end soon, and then we will offer Uni again in September when the Maine season reopens. Google Review: "My order arrived without delay to California overnight. The Maine uni was sweet and extremely fresh. I will be ordering again in the near future. Nice work!" - Deborah M Our Sea Urchin Roe (Uni) is harvested primarily by divers. The urchins are then processed by hand in Portland (on the wharf next door to us). Once processed, the delicate lobes of uni are packed in a salt-water brine. This brine avoids the need for preservatives and hardening agents! Fresh Uni is a delicacy that is enjoyed widely in sushi and is becoming a more popular ingredient in other seafood dishes. Uni is a fantastic sauce for pasta and is delicious on toast. Our fresh uni is avaliable to order online for overnight delivery to your door.  Uni does not freeze well at all and we do not recommend freezing. Our uni is premium Grade A quality packed in a salt-water brine. Saltwater avoids the need for preservatives and maintains top quality. *Consuming raw or undercooked seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
