Maharaja's Bookshelf

The magic of stories like "A Thousand and One Nights" and "Aladdin" hardly need any additional fanfare to be special, but this is one bookcase that is almost as wonderful as they are. Our Maharaja's Bookcase is handcrafted by artisans in Jodhpur that have been doing woodworking for quite some time. This worldly piece combines an ornate British Colonial design and a colorful, weathered finish for a fantastical result. An obvious solution for books, we can also imagine this in a kitchen, dining room, or a variety of other spaces to store things with majesty. Wisteria products are primarily handmade at small artisanal facilities in a traditional manner, in small batch quantities, or often as an individually made-to-order item if it is a part of our custom or bespoke program. Naturally - this means products may have variations between two items that may have been made in a separate batch or at a different time. Additionally, minor imperfections are part of the patina for these products. We want to share this with you so that you know what to expect and be proud of the uniqueness of your purchase. This is quintessential Wisteria and very much part of the DNA of us and our products. Several pieces in the line are also finished in a distressed or rustic finish, and this style lends itself to showing off wood imperfections more readily that what a typical stain finish would disguise. As patrons of the brand, we know you appreciate this difference - unlike many of our larger competitors who bring you factory-made products that are mass manufactured in state-of-the-art factories - we are focused on individual and small craftsmen for their artisanal skills that have been handed from generation to generation with a sense of passion and purpose.
