This product is a fertilizer-grade magnesium sulfate designed to correct magnesium deficiencies in lawns and landscape plants. It contains 15% water-soluble magnesium derived from magnesium sulfate, making it readily available once watered into the soil. It is applied as a dry fertilizer and is not intended for spray applications. What Magnesium Sulfate Does Magnesium plays a critical role in giving grass its green color. When magnesium levels are low, lawns often develop yellowing between the veins of older blades while newer growth remains greener Applying magnesium sulfate replenishes available magnesium in the soil, helping restore deeper green color and improving overall turf vigor. How to Apply Magnesium Sulfate For lawns and large areas, apply ½ to 1 pound per 100 sq ft. Refer to the product label for full application instructions. When to Apply Magnesium Sulfate Apply when visual symptoms of magnesium deficiency appear or when a soil test confirms low magnesium levels. Magnesium can be applied during the growing season when turf is actively growing and able to absorb nutrients. Because magnesium addresses a specific nutrient deficiency, it should be used as a corrective supplement and not as a substitute for a complete fertility program. Tools to Apply Magnesium Sulfate Apply using a broadcast or drop spreader for even coverage. This product is intended for dry application only and should not be used in spray equipment. After spreading, irrigate thoroughly to activate the product and move nutrients into the soil. Why Magnesium Matters for Lawn Color When your lawn starts turning yellow between the veins of older blades, it’s often a sign that something deeper is missing. Magnesium is essential for chlorophyll production. Without it, grass simply can’t maintain strong green color. As magnesium levels improve, chlorophyll production rebounds, color deepens and your lawn begins responding the way it should. Not sure if magnesium is the issue? A soil test can confirm whether a deficiency exists before application. Downloads Product Label Safety Data Sheet
