Upper Madison River - Fall Fly Box

Fish the Upper Madison like you know it — because now you do.   The Upper Madison River Fall Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Upper Madison from September through November. Fall on the Upper Madison means big brown trout pushing out of Hebgen Lake and moving through the river system. This is prime streamer season, with aggressive fish actively hunting in the classic riffle-pool water.   This box is built around the Upper Madison's fall hatch calendar — blue-winged olives and late caddis. Every fly was chosen with streamer fishing and BWO dry fly fishing in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering large streamers, sculpin patterns, BWO dries, and mahogany duns. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: The Hebgen Lake brown trout migration on the Upper Madison is one of Montana's most anticipated fall events. Fish big streamers through October and November for the best chance at a trophy.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Upper Madison or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
