Madelyn Side Table White Terrazzo

The Madelyn Side Table in White Terrazzo from Made Goods occupies a particular kind of space, one that asks for restraint and presence in equal measure. Its teardrop profile reads as both organic and deliberate, a form that seems to have arrived at itself through reduction rather than addition. The white terrazzo surface holds a quiet complexity; flecks of aggregate catch light differently depending on the hour and angle, so the table never quite settles into a single appearance. Proportion matters here. The silhouette is narrow enough to slip beside a chair or float at the end of a sofa without demanding visual weight, yet the form itself commands attention through its sculptural clarity. This is midcentury thinking applied to materials, the idea that a functional object can also be an object of observation. The terrazzo is cast and finished to a smooth plane, its durability built into the material itself rather than applied as a protective layer. This means the surface ages with use, developing a patina that speaks to inhabitation. Set a glass of water on it, and the condensation ring will eventually fade. Place a lamp there for years, and the base will leave its own subtle mark. The reinforced construction supports the form without calling attention to engineering. What remains visible is the essential gesture: a shape that works equally well indoors or out, in a corner or as a room divider, beside contemporary furnishings or alongside pieces from another era entirely. *Outdoor approved.
