Duncan Mirror Storm Leather

The Duncan Mirror in Storm Leather by Made Goods arrives as a substantial frame, leather-wrapped and shadow-boxed, that commands attention without demanding it. The full-grain leather wraps around a two-inch depth, creating a tactile edge that catches light differently depending on the angle and time of day. Contrast stitching runs the perimeter in a deliberate line, a detail that grounds the piece and suggests craft. What distinguishes this mirror is how the leather ages. Full-grain material develops character over time: natural markings emerge, the surface softens, color deepens in areas of contact. These aren't flaws but evidence of use and time. The leather may arrive with inherent distressing, color variation, and surface texture that speak to the material's authenticity rather than uniformity. In a room, the Duncan functions as both object and opening. The frame's depth means it doesn't sit flush against the wall but rather projects forward, creating shadow and dimension. Positioned above a console or within a gallery arrangement, it anchors a space with quiet authority. The leather reads as warm against cool plaster or drywall, and the stitching detail becomes more apparent as light moves across the surface throughout the day. This is a piece that settles into a room rather than announces itself. It works equally well in a minimalist interior or alongside layered furnishings, its neutral palette and restrained geometry allowing other elements to breathe. The material's propensity for visible wear means the mirror will look more considered, more lived with, as months pass. Made Goods *Natural variations in full-grain leather may occur.
