The kilt is fully pleated and secured at the waistband with Velcro, providing a simple, adjustable closure that makes it easy to put on and comfortable to wear. The pleated construction gives you plenty of movement while keeping the classic kilt silhouette. Pair it with a T-shirt, hoodie, flannel shirt, boots, slippers, or whatever else fits the occasion. There aren’t many rules here. That’s kind of the point. Customize Your MacChillin Want to turn your Comfy Kilt into something a little more personalized? Several upgrade options are available directly on the MacChillin product. Hidden Side Pockets Add two hidden side pockets for an easy place to carry your phone, keys, wallet, or other everyday essentials. The pockets are designed to stay discreet within the kilt, so they don’t interfere with its clean appearance. You may barely notice they’re there—until you need them. Sewn-Down Pleats Choose sewn-down pleats if you prefer a slimmer, more tailored profile. The first 4–5 inches of the pleats are stitched vertically along the knife edge, helping the upper portion of the kilt sit closer to the body. This creates a more refined shape and also makes the pleats easier to maintain and press. Buckle Closure For additional security and a more traditional kilt appearance, add black leather straps with nickel-plated buckles. Nylon buckle straps are also available if you prefer a more casual alternative. The buckle straps work alongside the standard Velcro waistband closure. If you choose leather buckle straps, keep in mind that we recommend dry cleaning the kilt, since repeated machine washing and drying can cause the leather to dry out. Belt Loops You don’t need a belt to keep a Sport Kilt in place, but optional belt loops let you add your favorite belt or run a traditional sporran chain through the loops. For best results: Wash in cold or warm water Use a gentle cycle Skip fabric softener Tumble dry on low heat or line dry If your kilt has leather buckle straps, dry cleaning is recommended to help protect the leather. Finding Your Fit For the best fit, measure around your waist exactly where you want the top of the kilt to sit. Don’t rely only on your pants size. Your actual kilt waist measurement is often about two inches larger than your pants size, and you may want to allow an additional inch or so depending on how relaxed you prefer the fit. For length, kneel and measure from the point where you want the waistband to sit down toward the floor.
