Macallan Classic Cut 2017

Experience The Macallan Classic Cut 2017, a testament to unparalleled sherry cask maturation. This limited edition Highland Single Malt enchants with its rich dried fruit, opulent chocolate, and intricate spice notes, all bottled at a robust 58.4% ABV. A truly extraordinary expression revealing the timeless character of a legendary distillery. Tasting Notes Nose: A rich and enticing aroma of dried fruits, particularly figs, raisins, and dates, immediately greets the senses. This is beautifully interwoven with sweet oak, hints of marzipan, and a gentle spice that conjures cinnamon and nutmeg. There's a subtle undertone of dark chocolate and orange zest, characteristic of well-sherried Macallan. Given the high proof, a faint alcoholic warmth is present but well-integrated, hinting at the depth to come. Palate: The first sip reveals a full-bodied and luxurious texture that coats the mouth. The sherry influence is paramount, delivering an opulent burst of sweet dark fruits, sticky toffee, and candied orange peel. Baking spices from the oak, including cloves and ginger, emerge, adding complexity. A delightful interplay of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and a whisper of smoked almond provide a savory counterpoint to the sweetness. Despite the potent ABV of 58.4%, the spirit remains remarkably smooth, showcasing its quality distillation and maturation. Finish: The finish is long, warming, and undeniably elegant. The echoes of dried fruits and sweet oak linger, slowly fading into notes of dark cocoa and a pleasant, dry spiciness. There’s a refreshing zestiness that cleanses the palate, inviting another sip. The high proof maintains its presence with a gentle, enduring warmth, making for a truly memorable conclusion.
