BMW M3: 40 Years of Evolution Exhibit Book

The BMW CCA Foundation is proud to release the official exhibition book for our tenth major showcase held at The Ultimate Driving Museum, "BMW M3: 40 Years of Evolution." Born for the track and built for the road, the BMW M3 is a legend of high performance. Its story began with the E30 M3 (1986–1991), which was far more than just a faster 3 Series—it was a purebred racing machine built to satisfy strict homologation rules. Rooted in this motorsport DNA, the M3 has consistently set the benchmark for performance, remaining one of the most iconic and successful sports cars in automotive history. This commemorative book captures that legacy through incredible stories artfully crafted by three renowned authors: Travis Okulski, Sam Smith, and Kyle Kinard. Their insights are complemented by stunning photography from Jon van Woerden, highlighting the 24 vehicles featured in our 2026 exhibit. Beyond the cars themselves, the book celebrates the owners and the 40-year evolution of the M3, serving as a permanent visual record of the exhibition at The Ultimate Driving Museum. Measuring 9x12, this volume is a must-have for any enthusiast—especially those who want to trace the M3 from its E30 genesis through its unique engineering and unrivaled racing pedigree.
