M1A1 Abrams (early rear guards)

The M1A1 Abrams (early rear guards) is an early version of the American main battle tank M1A1 Abrams, equipped with additional rear guards for improved protection of the tank’s engine compartment. This variant retained the 120mm smoothbore cannon, advanced fire control systems, and upgraded armor of the standard M1A1. The rear guards offered enhanced durability against threats from behind, making it well-suited for frontline operations where protection from all angles was crucial.
