LX 20 Candle Wicks

LX20-6” pre-cut, pre-tabbed wick. 1.5-“ flame height; 2.80” burn pool. LX Wicks are the ideal for paraffin and veggie waxes because they burn with a tighter and more controlled flame. This wick is coreless and braided, with stabilizing fibers throughout, making less likely to have carbon built up, reducing afterglow and soot, and maintaining structure while burning. These are great for votives, pillars and containers as they have a rigid structure and veggie coating. Benefits of LX wicks LX Wicks are a high performing wick with stabilizing fibers that work well in both container candles and in pillar candles. Not all wicks will work in pillar candles so be sure to watch for ones listed as such. Pillars need controlled burn pools and need to be correct for the dimension of your candle, or it can tunnel or just make a giant mess. LX wicks have an easy, controlled burn creating less soot and jar darkening. LX wicks also work great in wider candle containers with full melt pools. What type of waxes work well with LX wicks? LX wicks will work with all our wax types, including pillar waxes and paraffin blends. LX wicks are often the first choice of wick when working with paraffin waxes or paraffin wax blends. The tight, controlled heat output works well with these wax types. Can LX wicks work with high fragrance load candles? LX wicks are often the choice of candle makers when creating candles with high fragrance loads. This is especially true when the wax blend contains paraffin. CD wicks are another choice to look at with high fragrance loads but mostly soy based waxes. Heavy vanilla or heavy floral fragrances can sometimes require a different wick than with other scents, so please be sure to test with each fragrance and fragrance quantity. Are LX wicks self-trimming? LX wicks have great carbon control, meaning they will self-trim and have limited mushrooming. Mushrooming is caused when there is an imbalance between the amount of heat the wick puts off and the amount needed for the candle. Generally, this means that the wick is too large for the candle; either the flame and burn pool are too large, so you need to scale down in wick size, or the wick burns too hot for that specific wax type. Do Shay wicks contain lead? As always, all our wicks are zinc and lead free; made of natural fibers only. For personal guarantees, always test each wick with each different wax type, fragrance and container. Personal testing is the only way to ensure how the wick will perform in your product.
