Luna Moth Earrings

These earrings are made using real Luna Moth wings. The Luna Moth, also known as the American Moon Moth, is native to North America and characterized by their lime green wings and fuzzy white bodies. Interesting enough, the Luna Moth belongs to the Saturniidae family named after the concentric circles that create the "eye" present on the wings - much like the rings of Saturn. The Luna Moth spends about a year transforming from egg, to larvae, to pupa only to live as an adult for 10 days. Therefore, it makes sense that the Luna Moth symbolizes the brevity of life and to leave the past behind. In a way, it is poetic how their life cycle resembles ours. We spend most of our life trying to transform into the best version of ourselves only to enjoy it for a limited time.
