Luftwaffe Rudder Markings 1936-1945 by Karl Ries, Ernst Obermaier

Table of Contents From the archives of two recognized experts in the field of Luftwaffe historical research the often unique material for this book was taken. There is hardly anyone to equal Messrs. Ries and Obermaier in their task of gradually closing the still existing gaps in the history of Luftwaffe development as far as the air war from 1939 to 1945 is concerned. The extremely small number of surviving official documents, often still unregistered in the archives and thus unavailable, make it necessary to obtain authentic material directly from the participants in the spectacle themselves, and as a result a vivid, direct and fascinating description of the events becomes possible. For those interested in the Luftwaffe the information presented in this book will add greatly to an area that is rarely covered. For the first time a comprehensive view is available of a rather special area on the fringe of the air war that, due to the turbulent events between 1939 and 1945, had been known only to those directly involved. This book has parallel English and German throughout.
