These vermilion and black lacquer spoons are handcrafted by Osamu Matsuzaki, a lacquerware artist based in Motegi Town, Tochigi Prefecture. Each step of the process is completed by hand, giving every piece a warm and atmospheric character. As each item is handmade, slight variations will occur, adding to the uniqueness of each spoon Rinse with water or lukewarm water after use and wipe with a soft cloth Everyday stains can usually be removed without detergent; for tougher stains, use a mild detergent. (Leaving stains for long periods may cause damage or discoloration.) Avoid stacking ceramic or other vessels on top of lacquerware to prevent scratches After washing, dry thoroughly before storing. Do not store in direct sunlight or overly dry environments Not suitable for microwave, dishwasher, or dryer use
