Ludovica is a semi-double, large flower that opens pink over a yellow undertone, yellow stamens at center, perhaps the warmest pink among the Lobata of Perry Hybrids. Large flower and large leaflets on a semi-dwarf plant contribute to a very dominant texture among similar size plants in the mixed perennials border. Tends to be summer deciduous, intermix in the sunny border, screen with summer flowering species. Slightly fertile. Awards, Best Use & Distinctions Fragrant; general garden and landscape use; attracts pollinators and honey bees; deer resistant. Basic Growing Requirements Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to over-watering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
