Using this tool is essential to prevent damage to the fuel pump plunger rod, which could bend or unevenly apply pressure inside the pump, which can damage the internal sealing areas, if this tool is not used. Once the tool’s flange is flush with the valley pan, you know it’s safe to proceed with pump installation. The built-in handle allows for quick and easy placement and removal.
