LSU Tigers Desktop Sculpture

ICON Artworks is proud to pay tribute to the beloved Louisiana State University mascot with our officially licensed LSU Tigers Desktop Sculpture!  A perfect gift for students, alumni, faculty, and fans alike.  GEAUX TIGERS!!   LSU's athletes have been known officially as "Tigers" since 1896..  The name "Tigers" seemed like a natural choice at the the time since most college teams were taking on the names of intimidating and ferocious animals, but the true story of LSU's athletic title is buried in Civil War history.  The name was commonly used by Louisiana solders as far back as the Mexican War.  But, during the Civil War, a military regiment known as the Louisiana Tigers "distinguished itself with its fighting spirit in the battle of the Shenandoah Valley, where it was said they 'fought like tigers." Created by acclaimed sculptor Tim Wolfe of ICON Artworks  Handcrafted in Cast Pewter and Bronze Plated Cast Pewter The LSU Tigers Desktop Sculpture stands 5 inches in height (including base).  Total Weight: 3 lbs.  Each sculpture is mounted on a round, black Belgian marble base which can be customized or personalized with laser engraving to commemorate any event or achievement (e.g., Graduation).  Click here to view custom engraving samples.
