Lotus Elan S4 Airbox

Not only does our airbox have a factory like appearance, it has a neat secret inside! We have engineered short velocity stacks inside the box that clean up and direct airflow into the venturis of the two Stromberg carburettors. The original design had just sharp edges into the carb's mouths, causing turbulence and low velocity areas inside the venturis above the jet bridge. Take a look at the CFD simulation comparison in the images to see the difference. (blue is low velocity air, red/yellow is high velocity air) The airbox is constructed in 3D printed ABS plastic with a machined aluminium back plate for additional strength.
