Lost Temple

Lost Temple smells like tomato leaves, grass, and moss ---------- Resurrected Ruins The ancient temple loomed before me, a monolith of stone and shadow, rising from the jungle floor. Its tiers stretched into the canopy, carved with runes and figures that seemed to shift when I looked away.  This place was alive — its very stone pulsed with a forgotten power. Tomato vines and leaves as thick as a full-grown man coiled over the structure like the limbs of an ancient beast, slick with dew — or something far more sinister. Moss clinging to my boots as overgrown grass swayed with each step. The first stair groaned beneath my weight. The vines reacted instantly, writhing like serpents disturbed from slumber. One lashed out, striking the ground where I had just stood. I rolled to the side, cracking my whip through the air. The vine shrieked, severed in a burst of heat. I pressed on, dodging and striking as more vines attacked. One wrapped around my arm, its grip fierce and unyielding, cutting off my circulation. Another coiled tightly around my other arm, trapping me in place, my movements slowing as I was pulled to my knees. The temple’s massive door creaked open. Cloaked figures emerged, the Orb of the Ancients glowing faintly in their hands, its power radiating like a beacon. “You’re too late,” one rasped, their voice dripping with malice. More vines surged toward me, choking the life from me with their relentless grip.  With my strength fading, a deep roar erupted within me. The earth trembled beneath my feet as my rage turned to searing heat, disintegrating the vines.
