Losmandy AZ-8 6" Riser

Losmandy AZ-8 6" Riser for AZ-8 Alt-Azimuth Mount Add height, flexibility, and comfort to your AZ-8 setup—one 6" riser at a time. The Losmandy AZ-8 is a favorite for visual observers who want rock-solid dual-scope versatility. But when you’re using a longer refractor or simply need a little extra clearance between your mount head and tripod legs, the Losmandy AZ-8 6" Riser is the perfect solution. Machined from high-strength aluminum with stainless steel hardware, the AZ-8 Riser adds 6 inches of elevation between the AZ-8 mount head and your tripod. This boost can make the difference between bumping your diagonal on a tripod leg or enjoying a smooth, uninterrupted sweep of the night sky. Whether you’re accommodating longer optical tubes, improving observer comfort, or stacking risers for a custom height setup, the AZ-8 Riser does the job with Losmandy’s trademark durability and precision fit. Key Features: 6" Height Increase: Gives your AZ-8 an additional six inches of elevation—ideal for refractors and long optical tubes. Stackable Design: Need more height? Multiple risers can be securely stacked to achieve your ideal viewing position. Heavy-Duty Construction: Machined aluminum body with stainless steel hardware for strength, rigidity, and lasting performance. Perfect Fit: Designed specifically for the AZ-8’s central mounting bolt and tripod interface. No Flex, No Hassle: Maintains the AZ-8’s load capacity and stability, even with additional height. Whether you’re setting up for public outreach, grabbing quick sessions from your backyard, or traveling to dark skies with your favorite refractor, the AZ-8 6" Riser lets you tailor your setup without compromising stability. Observing Tip: If you frequently swap between a short optical tube and a longer refractor—or if you enjoy seated observing—the AZ-8 Riser can make your setup dramatically more comfortable. Raising the mount head helps prevent awkward leg collisions and lets you center the tripod under the mount’s weight. Many observers find that even a single riser improves ergonomics for planetary sessions or binocular viewing. Final Thoughts: The Losmandy AZ-8 6" Riser gives your favorite dual-saddle mount a custom feel. It’s a simple, effective accessory that can make a big difference in your observing experience. Built with Losmandy’s signature quality, this riser is a smart investment for AZ-8 owners looking to fine-tune their setup for comfort and performance.
