This frameset is for triathletes, time-trial riders, Ironman athletes, and aero-focused cyclists who want to build a fast custom race bike around their preferred drivetrain, wheels, cockpit position, saddle, and fit coordinates. Is the 796 Monoblade RS good for triathlon? Yes. It is designed specifically for triathlon and time-trial performance, with an aerodynamic frame, integrated cockpit, internal cable routing, and geometry intended for speed against the clock. Is this a complete bike or a frameset? This product is a frameset, not a complete bike. You should plan for wheels, tires, drivetrain, brakes, rotors, cassette, chain, saddle, extensions, hydration/storage setup, pedals, and any required small parts. What makes the 796 Monoblade RS aerodynamic? The frame is shaped around aero modeling, wind tunnel testing, internal cable routing, and an integrated cockpit concept. LOOK also highlights its track expertise and carbon mastery in the design. What is the maximum tire clearance? LOOK lists compatibility with tires up to 32 mm. What bottom bracket does it use? The 796 Monoblade RS Frameset uses a T47 85.5 mm bottom bracket standard. What brake standard does the frame use? The frameset is disc mount only and uses the Flat Mount standard. What axles does the frameset use? The front thru axle is X12 type, 100 mm, M12 x 1.5, with 115 mm full length. The rear thru axle is X12 type, 142 mm, M12 x 1.5, with 160 mm full length. Can I build this with electronic shifting? Yes, it can be a strong platform for a modern electronic triathlon or time-trial drivetrain, provided the drivetrain, brake, routing, bottom bracket, and cockpit parts are selected for compatibility. Confirm the final parts list with your mechanic before ordering. Can I use this for Ironman racing? Yes. The 796 Monoblade RS is designed for aerodynamic efficiency and race performance, making it a strong option for long-course triathlon and Ironman-style events when properly fit to the athlete. How important is fit on this frameset? Fit is critical. Triathlon bikes are highly position-sensitive, and the right frame size depends on more than rider height. Pad stack, pad reach, saddle position, crank length, hip angle, and event distance all matter. What size should I choose? LOOK's approximate size guide recommends XS for riders under 166 cm, S for 164-173 cm, M for 171-180 cm, and L for 178-187 cm. In inches, that is XS under 65.4 in, S from 64.6-68.1 in, M from 67.3-70.9 in, and L from 70.1-73.6 in. A professional triathlon fit is recommended before choosing a frameset size. Why choose a frameset instead of a complete triathlon bike? A frameset lets you build around your preferred drivetrain, wheel depth, cockpit position, saddle, hydration system, and race setup. This is ideal for athletes who know their fit numbers or want a high-end custom build. Is this bike only for racing? The 796 Monoblade RS is purpose-built for speed, triathlon, and time trial performance. It can be trained on, but it is best suited to athletes who want a dedicated aero race platform.
