Long Distance Jealousy

"Long Distance Jealousy" Approximate Size: 19x24-inch Newly created masterpiece on 1-31-2026. Black ink on street canvas (cardboard). Forr Sale. Description This intimate cardboard drawing captures a woman caught between commitment and proximity. Her outstretched hand, marked by a clear diamond ring, gestures forward while her other hand the fingers curl inward—suggesting unresolved ties within her immediate circle. In the distant background, a small figure represents her long-distance partner, physically present in the composition but emotionally far away. Artistic Review The artist uses scale and distance masterfully: the fiancé reduced to a tiny figure on the horizon, while the foreground is dominated by the woman’s expressive eyes and restless hand. The exaggerated lashes and simplified anatomy heighten emotional clarity over realism. The diamond ring becomes the quiet focal point—symbolizing intention, promise, and complication—while the curling fingers subtly undermine its certainty. Critique This piece succeeds as a nuanced portrait of modern relationships. It resists moral judgment, instead documenting emotional contradiction with honesty and restraint. The cardboard’s creases divide space and time, reinforcing the tension between long-distance commitment and present-moment intimacy. Framed in ornate gold, the work transforms a raw, almost diary-like drawing into a sophisticated commentary on loyalty, desire, and the uncomfortable gray areas in between. Original, one-of-a-kind artwork. Hand-drawn on reclaimed cardboard and signed by the artist.
