Lone Mountain

FARM FOR SALE! The three little words jumped off the page at Amelia Brackley as she sipped her coffee one Sunday morning. Farm. For. Sale. And she knew her life would never be the same. After raising her child, Amelia is ready to start a new chapter in her life, and she can think of no better time to go home. Home to the multi-generational dairy farm where she grew up in the beautiful western Maine town of Andover. She sells her apartment after her daughter leaves for college and moves home to create a rustic farm retreat on the land her family lived on for years. On the land where her life changed forever, stolen from her in the cruelest way possible. When she arrives home, she realizes things aren't quite as she remembers. The farm is the same, the land as pristine as ever, but something has changed: she has changed. Everything has changed. Can she learn to abide with the demons she can't forget? Can she learn to love? More importantly, can she learn to forgive herself? LONE MOUNTAIN is a twisty tale of mistrust and perseverance. Stubbornness runs through Amelia's veins, fueling her passion for turning this family property into a welcoming farm-to-table retreat complete with lodging. Nothing will stop her as she progresses toward her goals. Not a man living above the garage, not a town resistant to change, not even the cold dark memories of that day over thirty years ago, and certainly not human bones discovered in the back forty. Can Amelia connect the dots, and beyond that, does she want to?
