Loft Peacoat - Handwoven Iron/Cutch Brick HB

The Loft Peacoat takes pretty clear inspiration from the iconic US Naval jacket that it shares a name with. Indi + Ash say they drew specifically from WWII-era models, though their version aims more for comfort and function that historical accuracy, using entirely custom materials and their own relaxed fit. Featuring the classic double-breasted placket, it's got wide jacket lapels and four external pockets for storage and comfort, including the two vertical hand pockets on the chest. The fabric is serious — thick, heavy, and handwoven with 100% cotton yarns. The outside is an extremely textured and slubby herringbone, with a soft hand and phenomenal drape, while the inside is lined with Indi + Ash's handwoven denim. One set of yarns is dyed black with an iron-based natural dye, while the uses a natural cutch-based dye to achieve the brick-brown color. The resulting herringbone is a beautiful dark brown/black combo with subtle tonal variance and a unique & uneven texture thanks to the low-tension weave. Fits true to size with a relaxed fit for layering.
