Liquid Sulfur

Sulfur is essential for collagen synthesis, which equates to healthy joints, smooth skin, glossy hair and hard nails. It is critical to protein utilization and metabolism. Sulfur is found in every cell of the human body and is a crucial component of our tissues and some amino acids, hormones, vitamins, enzymes, antibodies and antioxidants. Large amounts of Sulfur are found in joints, skin, hair, and nails. There is a minimum concentration of Sulfur that must be maintained for normal healthy bodily function and structure. The body uses Sulfur to continually create healthy new cells to replace old ones. Sulfur has a role in cell permeability, ensuring that nutrients are delivered into the cell and waste products are removed. Every time the body removes metabolic waste products from the cell, it also removes the Sulfur compound that neutralizes that waste. This is why Sulfur supplementation is so vital to daily nutrition. Dietary sources of Sulfur are normally absorbed from the intestinal tract primarily as Sulfur-containing amino acids. Sulfur is present in four amino acids: methionine, cysteine, homocysteine, and taurine. Sulfur is also present in two B vitamins, thiamine and biotin; interestingly, thiamine is important to skin and biotin to hair. Eidon’s Liquid Sulfur is MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), which is the organic form of Sulfur and is absorbed quickly after ingestion, bypassing normal food absorption channels. Excess amounts are eliminated from the body. Sulfur has been known as the "beauty mineral" because it helps the complexion and skin stay clear and youthful. Sulfur is also important for proper metabolism of carbohydrates and adequate uptake of sugar molecules necessary for energy. Sulfur deficiencies can occur if a diet is deprived of protein, when foods are grown in Sulfur-depleted soil, or from a poorly planned vegan diet. Sulfur works synergistically with Silica and Molybdenum, and is antagonistic to Copper and Calcium. Zinc is antagonistic to Sulfur, so it is important to replenish your Sulfur stores if supplementing with Zinc. Food High in Sulfur: Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, fish, poultry, meats, nuts, garlic, onions, leeks and eggs.
