Liota - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'8 X 8'6

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece represents Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe. The reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones. About This Style Vintage rugs are defined by an aesthetic that evokes an antique character, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed pieces undergo deliberate ageing, such as overdyeing, which creates a ghost-pattern effect where the original design remains visible beneath a saturated wash. These rugs frequently incorporate a medallion, a dominant central motif that anchors the composition, often framed by a structurally distinct border in the tradition of mid-20th-century Anatolian weaving. Where It Works The flatwoven construction of this rug allows it to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is ideal for layering over larger carpets and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a prominent central medallion motif rendered in a turquoise palette with a distressed, overdyed finish that reveals ghost-pattern details. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides essential breathability, while polyester ensures long-term durability and moisture resistance. — The flatwoven construction results in a no-pile surface that remains stable on the floor and is resistant to shedding. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Highly functional for high-traffic environments and compatible with underfloor heating, offering a versatile solution for diverse interior layouts.
