How It Works The NBT125-W Access Control Reader uses 125 kHz proximity technology to ensure secure and seamless operation. When a credential such as a card or fob is presented within the 3-inch read range, the reader uses radio frequency (RF) signals to capture and transmit the credential’s unique identifier. This data is then sent to the access control panel in Wiegand format, where it is validated against authorized credentials. If approved, access is granted. The device also provides immediate feedback through visual indicators and an audible tone, ensuring a smooth user experience.
