Depending on the area local police reports typically indicate one-third to fully half of all residential burglaries being the direct result of a left open garage door.  It only takes a few seconds to steal something out of the garage, hopefully not your car, and hopefully this would be the worst of it.  Unfortunately however an open garage is an open invitation for someone to get into your house and steal more and even hurt you and your kids too.  Police will generally call you on it at night if it's left open, but why leave this to chance.  This wireless garage door opener and remote controller from Linear / GoControl lets you close your garage door from your phone.  If you're the type to repeatedly drive off and forget to shut your garage then you will use this all the time.  For this time-saving and potentially life-saving capability, you must use this device with a Z-Wave hub.  The device and hub setup will enable you not only to remotely check the status of your garage door and close it when you have that oops! moment, but you can also setup scenes to coordinate the closing of the garage each night along with the turning down of your lights, and arming of your motion detectors and door contacts.  The best Z-Wave hubs and software will give you SMS notification alerts as to when your garage is open as well.
