Linear AP-5 Receiver and Standalone Access Controller

Professional Wireless Receiver w/ 3 Configurable Relays for Access Control The Linear AP-5 is a standalone wireless receiver with built-in relay control designed for professional access control installations at vehicular gates, pedestrian gates, door strikes, and magnetic locks. The integrated 318 MHz superheterodyne receiver accepts signals from up to 480 Linear MegaCode block-coded transmitters and up to six fully supervised MGT safety edge transmitters with a radio range of 500 feet. What separates the AP-5 from a basic receiver is its three independently configurable Form C relays, which allow a single unit to manage mixed access and obstacle functions across multiple access points simultaneously. Operates on 12 to 24 volts AC or DC and can be powered directly by a compatible gate operator. Must be mounted in a protected area away from direct weather exposure. Key Features Integrated 318 MHz superheterodyne receiver with 500 ft range, virtually immune to RF noise interference Supports up to 480 Linear MegaCode block-coded transmitters or 238 individual transmitters and wireless keypad codes Over 1,000,000 possible transmitter codes for strong credential security Three Form C relays, access, obstacle, and one configurable to either, for mixed gate and door control from a single unit Six fully supervised MGT safety edge transmitter inputs for swing or slide gate obstacle detection Access relay activation programmable from 1 to 120 seconds or latch mode per relay Operates on 12 to 24V AC or DC, can be powered directly by compatible gate operator Program data stored in non-volatile EPROM, retains memory without power Technical Specifications Model: AP-5 RF Frequency: 318 MHz superheterodyne receiver RF Sensitivity: -102 dBm minimum Radio Range: 500 ft; extendable w/ EXA-2000 antenna Transmitter Capacity: 480 block-coded or 238 individual transmitters/keypad codes Facility Codes: Up to 4 Security: Over 1,000,000 possible transmitter codes MGT Safety Edge Inputs: Up to 6 fully supervised Relay Outputs: Three Form C relays rated 1A @ 24V AC or DC Relay K1: Access only Relay K2: Configurable, access or obstacle Relay K3: Obstacle only Relay Activation Time: Programmable 1 to 120 seconds or latch Power Input: 12 to 24V AC or DC, 250 mA maximum Operating Temperature: -22° to +158°F (-30° to +70°C) Dimensions: 4.5 in W x 6 in H x 1.5 in D Included: 9.5 in whip antenna, 3 ft coaxial cable, barrel connector Manufacturer: Linear Compatible Accessories Antenna: EXA-2000 directional antenna Wireless Keypad: MDKP Visor Transmitter: MDT-1B visor-style Portable Transmitter: MT-1B visor-style Key Ring Transmitter: ACT-31B key ring-style Conclusion The AP-5 is the right choice when an installation requires a capable wireless receiver that can independently manage mixed access and obstacle relay functions without a separate controller. Unit must be installed in a protected area away from direct weather exposure.
