Sweetened with raw honey and coconut nectar. Flavored with organic cocoa powder, organic cocoa nibs, and organic chocolate chips — tested for heavy metals. No artificial flavors. No natural flavor systems. Tastes like chocolate because of actual chocolate, not flavor engineering. Why it exists: The protein bar category is saturated with products that use industrial shortcuts to mimic food. Lineage Chocolate was built to be genuinely indulgent — rich, satisfying, chocolate-forward — using only real food inputs and the lowest processing load in the category. If it tastes like a candy bar, it should be because of real ingredients, not clever chemistry. What makes it different: Protein quality — verified, not implied: The Lineage Bar uses a blend of grass-fed WPC / 100% grass-fed bovine collagen  Cocoa that's tested, not just organic: The cocoa powder used in the Chocolate bar is sourced from Ivory Coast, certified organic, and independently tested for heavy metals. Cocoa is a known accumulator of heavy metals from soil — sourcing and testing matter. The cocoa nibs come from Peru, also organic. This is the same standard of ingredient scrutiny applied across the Lineage product line. No ultra-processed fibers or binders: No agave inulin. No tapioca fiber. No soluble corn fiber. Coconut nectar binds the bar the way a real ingredient would — it's the raw sap of the coconut tree, low glycemic, and naturally rich in potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, calcium, Vitamin C, and B vitamins. A functional ingredient that also contributes nutrition. Gut-friendly by design: No sugar alcohols. No gums. No emulsifiers. No inulin. Every ingredient that typically causes bloating and GI discomfort in protein bars has been deliberately removed. The result is a bar that sits comfortably — no heaviness, no cramping, no crash. Ancestral fat source: 100% grass-fed and finished beef tallow. No seed oils. Tallow from Grassland Tasmania with a 1.3:1 omega-6 to omega-3 ratio — a meaningful marker of genuinely clean, grass-fed sourcing. Stable, nutrient-rich fat that supports satiety and steady energy without blood sugar spikes. Real sweetness: Raw honey and coconut nectar deliver 9g of total sugar per bar — the same as the Mixed Berry, and lower than Prima (14g) or Jacob (10g). No sucralose. No acesulfame-K. No monk fruit extracts. Sweetness that functions like food. Collagen for structure, not just macros: Bovine collagen contributes Types I and III to support joints, connective tissue, skin, and gut lining integrity. It's not in the formula to inflate the protein number — it's there because collagen is genuine nutritional value that whey alone doesn't cover. Best for: Chocolate cravings without compromise, post-workout recovery, daily protein without seed oils or sugar alcohols, dessert alternative, travel, people replacing conventional protein or candy bars How to use: Pre-workout (30–60 min before), post-workout (within 30 min), between meals, kids lunchboxes, travel snack, or as a dessert alternative. No usage limit. Storage note: Natural browning may occur over time from Maillard reactions between honey and whey protein — a normal sign of real-food ingredients. Texture may firm slightly over time as honey interacts with moisture. Store in a cool, dry place. FAQ: Is the chocolate flavor natural or artificial? Entirely natural — organic cocoa powder, organic cocoa nibs, and organic chocolate chips. No "natural flavors." No flavor systems. Is the cocoa tested for heavy metals? Yes — the cocoa powder is independently tested for heavy metals. Cocoa accumulates metals from soil; Lineage tests for this rather than assuming organic certification is sufficient. I usually find chocolate protein bars chalky or artificial-tasting. Why is this different? Most chocolate protein bars use natural flavors or flavor systems to create the taste because their base ingredients don't taste good on their own. Lineage uses actual cocoa powder and cocoa nibs, so the chocolate flavor comes from the real thing — which is why the texture and taste register as food rather than a supplement. Does it contain gluten? No gluten ingredients, but gluten is run in the manufacturing facility with allergen control programs to minimize cross-contamination. What is the money-back guarantee? If you don't love it, 100% refund, no questions asked.
