Product Description This small lady beetle is a scale-eating generalist, feeding on every life stage of the pest including eggs, nymphs, and adults. Females lay eggs right near scale colonies, and the larvae get to work feeding immediately after hatching. A great all-in-one option when you're dealing with scale at multiple life stages. Pair with Aphytis melinus for complete control of California red scale specifically. Crops Vegetables · Tree Nurseries · Succulents & Cacti · Houseplants Usages Greenhouses · Interiorscapes · Orcarchards · Gardens Introduction Rates Release 3–5 beetles per plant, 50 per tree, or 1,000–2,000 per acre Temperature range: 50–104°F Rates are general guidelines. Actual needs vary by pest species, plant, and infestation level. Monitor both pests and released insects to gauge success. Application Introduce during cooler parts of the day in the morning or evening. Target plants showing 2nd-instar scale activity; mist plants lightly, then sprinkle beetles directly onto affected areas. Leave the container open for 24 hours for stragglers to emerge. Best introduced immediately upon receipt. If needed, store up to 18 hours at 50–60°F, out of direct sunlight. Never freeze.
