Liminal Tides Mini Collection | Robin Appasamy

A collection of atmospheric works inspired by the rhythm and movement of the sea. Rendered in a restrained palette of black, white, and layered neutrals, Liminal Tides explores the fleeting moments that exist between motion and stillness. Each composition captures a different expression of water as it gathers, advances, recedes, and transforms along the shoreline. Distilled to their essential forms, these works emphasize movement, depth, light, and atmosphere. The absence of color allows the emotional qualities of the ocean to emerge, revealing both its quiet strength and its capacity for calm. What you are left with is the pure emotions felt when you encounter the inertia of the sea. Balancing energy with restraint, the series brings a sense of contemplation to a space. Waves suspended in transition create a visual rhythm that feels both powerful and serene, offering moments of reflection while maintaining a refined simplicity. Rooted in the idea of the liminal, these works inhabit the space between states of being, where arrival and departure, tension and release, motion and stillness exist at once. The collection offers a quiet meditation on transition, inviting a deeper awareness of the beauty found within moments of change. Created with gouache and built up layer by layer on canvas, each work is sealed with a matte archival finish. Luminous white highlights emerge through an alcohol-resist technique, revealing delicate passages of light and movement that echo the shifting rhythms of the sea.   Acrylic 4"x6" Each signed with genuine silver point Made in Hawai'i
