Lightning Bug Silver

The Lightning Bug – Silver is a sleek, high-contrast nymph pattern that excels in clear water and overcast conditions. With a reflective silver body, metallic beadhead, and slender silhouette, this fly cuts quickly through the water column and mimics a range of small aquatic insects—especially mayflies and midges. Its flashy design makes it an excellent attractor in both indicator and Euro-style nymphing setups, while still subtle enough to fool pressured trout. The silver variation is especially effective in tailwaters and technical freestone streams where a little flash can draw fish in without overwhelming them. Whether used as a lead fly in a two-nymph rig or as a standalone in shallow pocket water, the Lightning Bug – Silver is a reliable year-round choice.
