Light Splits Down the Wolf's Tooth, by Sarah Sorensen

Poetry, prose poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features. Let go. Get wild. Sink into these plush queer poems and let them devour you like a snake with her jaw unhinged. This collection explores the natural world as a mirror to our own internal world, a place of limerence, lust, and primal hunger. These prose poems demand to be felt, colliding bitterness and ecstasy, the roar of rage and the howl of loneliness. Let’s not tame the tiger, or apologize for the opportunism of a coyote survivalist. Wild life is a merging of Kant’s “beautiful” and “sublime,” a source of transcendence. Wonder without judgment. Linger in the gaze of the doe. Pause beneath the beating wings of the geese and listen to the sound of their feathers above you. Stay with these poems because they long to stay with you, like a friend, a lover, or any other carnivorous predator. Sarah Sorensen (she/her), MA, MLIS is a queer writer based in the Metro Detroit area. She has been published over 80 times in lit mags.
