Licorice Root Wax | Glycyrrhiza Glabra

Licorice Root CO₂ Wax is a concentrated, wax-rich botanical extract obtained from the roots of Glycyrrhiza glabra using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. Unlike conventional aqueous or hydroalcoholic licorice extracts, CO₂ extraction selectively captures the plant's lipophilic constituents, producing a rich, semi-solid material particularly suited to oil-based and anhydrous cosmetic formulations. The naturally occurring waxes and oil-soluble fractions of licorice root give this material a distinctive botanical character and make it especially valuable in premium facial oils, balms, salves, creams, scalp treatments, body butters, and other advanced botanical formulations. Licorice root has a long history of use in traditional botanical preparations and is highly regarded in modern cosmetic formulation for products designed to support the appearance of balanced, even-looking, calm, and well-conditioned skin. Because this is a CO₂ wax fraction, its composition differs considerably from traditional water-soluble licorice extracts. It should not be considered interchangeable with standardized glycyrrhizin-rich or glabridin-standardized extracts unless supported by specific analytical testing.
