William Ellery Lichen Socks are on ongoing research project of technical hosiery. Socks are made in small batches, and may only be produced once. New versions of this sock represent the advancements made by the findings you collect. Submit all research findings here. V18 Notes: V18 reintroduces a Clay colorway version, reminiscent of v16. Using the same lightweight(2.5oz) overall content of v16, we have shifted the terry tectonic plates to advance up the calf. This provides better padding for the heel, reducing blisters, and making any lichen showing above the cuff of the shoe fell cohesive. A new plate has been added at exactly where a ties knot in laces would fall. Plates have been expanded around the toe bed, to better protect the pinky. The top welt has been expanded to provide better height on calf, and a more relaxed ride. The Thick welt (band at the top of the calf) prevents a deep ring from forming on your skin, distributing the pressure over a larger surface area. This area is even larger than previous increases. Ingredients: 70% Super Fine Merino Wool 25% Nylon 5% Elastic Technical Details: Top welt carabiner attachment hole Extended Clay Visibility Rib Knit Cuff Trail Tension Body Knit Dynamic terry seperation Elasticated Arch Lace pressure pad Tectonic Terry Footbed Included in batch 18 is an aluminum, ultralight, carabiner for drying your socks while hiking.
