Library Lion Paperback

When Lion enters the Library, Miss Merriweather, head librarian and rule maker, has little expectation order will be maintained. But, as it turns out, this lion is very well suited to library visiting. His big feet are quiet on the Library floor. He makes a comfy backrest for the children at story hour. He never roars in the Library, at least not anymore. And when things go awry, he comes to the rescue of his friends and favorite place. Michelle Knudsen's charming story is illustrated by Kevin Hawkes in an expressive, timeless style, and will win over even the most ardent of rule keepers. Quote from the Author: "My dad likes to tell me about the first time we walked by the 42nd street Library when I was little, when he pointed out the lions to me and I was immediately and thoroughly enchanted. I didn't write my picture book Library Lion until many years later, of course, but I believe that initial connection between the lions and the magic of the Library stayed with me and helped to inspire the story. Those majestic stone guardians were (and remain!) such a welcoming presence to all who wish to enter; I wanted to capture that feeling of welcome in my book, and it seemed only natural that the visitor in question should be a lion himself."
