Leslie King Untitled ll

In Untitled ll, Leslie King presents a striking figurative composition that balances strength, vulnerability, and mystery. A seated figure occupies the canvas with quiet confidence, surrounded by vibrant passages of pink, blue, ochre, and earthy neutrals. The simplified forms and layered geometry create a visual language that feels both contemporary and timeless, inviting viewers to explore the emotional space between abstraction and representation. King's distinctive approach allows the figure to exist as more than a portrait. Rather than defining a specific identity, she creates a symbolic presence—one that reflects themes of self-awareness, resilience, and transformation. The partially obscured face and carefully structured composition encourage contemplation, while the rich palette introduces warmth, energy, and movement throughout the work. At a monumental scale, Untitled 2 commands attention while maintaining a remarkable sense of intimacy. Intricate details emerge within the layered surfaces, revealing King's intuitive mark-making and thoughtful use of texture. The composition unfolds gradually, rewarding close observation and allowing each viewer to discover their own narrative within the painting. A powerful original artwork, Untitled 2 exemplifies Leslie King's ability to merge figuration, abstraction, and emotion into a sophisticated contemporary statement. It is a museum-scale piece that anchors a room while bringing character, depth, and visual intrigue to any collection.
