Leopard Hopper

Leopard Hopper — The Grasshopper That Outsmarts Fish (and Boredom) Small, spotted, and ridiculously effective — the Leopard Hopper is a lightweight foam grasshopper with rubber legs that flops, hops, and teases trout into making questionable life choices. For anglers who like their flies loud in action but low on fuss: this is your go-to bug for pond edges, lily pads, and that one stream that never cooperates. Who it's for Designed for freshwater anglers who prefer cunning over brute force — ideal for bass and trout hunters who want realistic surface action without delicate handling. Part of the AXG Life lineup, built Life, Adventure-Ready for mornings that start before coffee and end with a fish story worth repeating. Key Features & Design Material: Lightweight foam body for buoyancy and long-lasting float. Legs: Flexible rubber legs that shimmy and pulsate on the surface for irresistible attraction. Appearance: Distinctive leopard spots for high-visibility and realistic bug mimicry. Sizes: Available in sizes #08 through #12 to match various hatch sizes and target species. Action: Designed to ride the surface with natural movement — no theatrics, just results. Performance & Benefits The Leopard Hopper turns lazy bank-side casting into cinematic ambushes. Its foam body keeps it buoyant even after multiple strikes, while the rubber legs create lifelike disturbance that makes predators think, “Lunch.” Use it in calm ponds, slow-moving rivers, or around cover where topwater presentations win the day. Why you'll notice the difference: it stays visible, casts easily, and recovers quickly — meaning fewer lost flies and more chances to tell your version of events. Built for midnight pond patrols and questionable decisions at dawn, it helps you stay in the action longer and fish smarter, not harder. Quick Tips Match size to local hoppers — try #10 as a reliable starting point. Work with short, twitchy strips to maximize leg action and provoke surface strikes. Rinse after salty or gritty outings to keep the foam and rubber in fighting shape. Ready for more catches and fewer explanations? Toss a Leopard Hopper in your fly box and make your next outing a little louder. Add to cart and give your tackle bag something to brag about.
